Welcome to our celebration of the Storybook Collection Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. We are blog hopping today. Daniel West here with a few cards to highlight the dude-ly and fantastic nature of this innovative collection of stamps, dies and other goodies.
I have included a list of the entire hop for today below. Leave a comment on each blog! With each comment you have an entry to the drawing for $25 to shop Catherine Pooler Designs.
For my first card, I made a Father’s Day card using the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp, the Wild About You Stamp Set, the Hey Mister Stamp Set and the Wood Slice Dies. These all come together in a bundle called The Father’s Day Bundle. I stamped out the plaid background onto an A2-sized card panels with the new Lemongrass Ink and drew brown lines in both directions using a brown Copic marker. I used the Lemongrass Ink pad direct to paper on the edges of the card base. Then I trimmed down the panel to 4 x 5.25 inches and adhered it onto the Lemongrass colored A2-sized card base with some liquid adhesive.
Then I stamped out the bear, the sentiment and the wood slice images onto some kraft cardstock using Icing on the Cake Ink for the darker shades and Over Coffee for the lighter shades. I die cut the wood slice and the bear images out with their coordinating dies and adhered them to the front of the card panel. Then I cut the sentiment out of the cardstock in a banner shape and popped up the middle section with foam tape and glued the end pieces underneath with liquid adhesive.

Card 2: Courage
For my second project, I made a gender-neutral card with the Take Courage Stamps Set and the Words from the Wizard Background Stamp. To create this card, I applied some Icing on the Cake Ink to the edges of an A2 sized card base. Then, on some kraft cardstock, I stamped the background stamp in Over Coffee Ink. Next, I stamped the ginko leaves image onto the front left of the panel. Then, I heat embossed the Words from the Wizard image with white embossing powder onto some White cardstock I had colored in with Icing one the Cake Ink. I trimmed the section I wanted to highlight into strips and popped them up on some foam tape on the front of the panel over the corresponding words below.
