Hey everyone! Thanks for joining me today on the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Blog Hop. The team features the March Subscription items throughout the hop. This week, my friend, Ashley Tucker, posted a video of a galaxy background with a glitter glaze over the top!! Of course, Ashley is one of my absolute favorite card artists and I want to be like her when I grow up. So I CASED her card today using Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments and Glitter Glaze and the March Stencil of the Month.
I started out by taping down a piece of watercolor paper to my glass mat with some Therm O Web Purple Tape! I laid out a layer of Violet, Blue and Blue Green Aqua Pigments first and dried it with my heat tool. Then I added a layer of Black on top of that layer and after drying, I added one more layer of Blue Green in spots. I finished off my galaxy background by flicking some white watercolor over the top with a brush and an acrylic block.
I took out my March Stencil of the Month and sprayed the back with Pixie Spray light tack adhesive from Therm O Web and let it dry for a minute. Then I laid the stencil, tacky side down, over the top of my painted paper. I grabbed a spatula and scooped out some Unicorn Horn Glitter Glaze. I smoothed it over the top of the stencil around the outside of the cardstock to form a vignette. After it dried, I sponged some Raven Detail Ink around the outer edges.
To me, it looked like I was looking out at a night sky through castle ruins… I loved it! I heat embossed a sentiment from B|M Super Sentimental Stamp Set with Alabaster Embossing Powder. Then, I drew in some hearts in an array from the bottom to the top of the opening with a white gel pen. With a black marker, I made a shadow behind the sentiment and the hearts to help them stand out better against the sky.
I adhered the panel to a black card base with some B|M All-purpose Craft Glue.
