Hey Artie! What a treat to get to show off the newest collection from Catherine Pooler called, Out West. I suspect this release was named after me, but I can get no official word from the Head Honcho on this.
This collection gathers inspiration from all over the southwest. Cacti, weave designs, mountains and arrows. The printed papers combine some of my favorite Catherine Pooler ink colors: Green Tea, Daydream, and Juniper Mist. I have a few projects to show you today!
I will be working with the Mountain of Thanks Bundle. Click the picture below to grab it now! Or to buy the entire release, click the “I want it all” photo.
Project #1 - Dream Big
For my first project, I ink blended a panel of White cardstock with Daydream and Rouge inks. Then, I die cut it out with the Triangle Cover Plate Die. I used some Glad Press N Seal to keep the pieces together when I pulled the negative out of the die cut. , Then, I die cut another piece of White cardstock and adhered it to the back of the inked up die cut. Next, I adhered the two stacked die cuts to the front of an A2 card base.
I took the negative pieces and glued them back into place, leaving some spaces empty. I die cut the mountains out and stamped them with Daydream ink and adhered them to the front of the panel. Then, I die cut the Dream Big die out of White cardstock. I also cut the frame of the Dream Big die out of cardstock I had colored with Daydream ink and adhered it to the back of the white die cut.
To finish off the card, I adhered the Dream Big sentiment die cut to the front of the mountains and added some sequins from the Santa Fe Sequin Mix to the front with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.
Project #2 - Keep Going
The encouraging sentiment in this stamp set, inspired the composition of the card! What a great way to lift someone’s spirits.
To create this card, i stamped out the images of the mountains, cloud, and trees and die cut them out with my Gemini Junior. Then, I created an A2-sized card base with White Cardstock. Next, stamped mountains out with Something Borrowed ink and the arrows border stamps with Lime Rickey in 1st and 2nd generation. I stamped the sentiment in Something Borrowed. To finish off the card, I popped up all the die cuts with dimensional adhesive!
