Hey Artie!! Two posts in as many days!! Also Happy Valentine’s Day to you. I am here with another love of my life, Hero Arts and the new Spring 2020 Catalog. You must have seen some of the previews and videos from Creativation last month, but you haven’t seen what all of my friends and I have done with the newest items in this release.
Be sure to leave a comment on each stop in this hop for a chance to win one of three $50 shopping sprees to heroarts.com.
Before seeing my projects, I’ve added a grid of the items I’ll be playing with over the next bit. So if you don’t see a card here with them, you can anticipate some in the next few weeks.
Card #1 Tiptoe Through the Tulips
For my first card, I masked off three windows with some purple tape. Then, I fussy-cut some masks of the tulip and leaf images, running some removable adhesive over the back of each. Next, I stamped the tulips and leaves and butterfly images, masking each one behind the others.
Then, I colored in the tulips with Copic markers in RV, BV, V and YG colors. I finished off the backgrounds with some Y and RV. Finally, I stamped the hello sentiment onto the front of the panel and adhered it to the front of an A2-sized panel.
Card #2 Don’t Smoke and Fly
Hehehe… If you don’t have a sense of humor, please kindly skip card #2.
The new HeroScape Stamp Sets are a new kind of layering sets that create beautiful landscapes. I found this Sunflower Field setc easy to layer and forgiving enough for me—since I am terrible at layering stamps.
I added a Del & Artie twist to this card, by masking off part of the barn and plane. I created a crash scene just above the beautiful sunflower field. Flames are simple shapes colored in with YR and Y Copics. Of course, the collision startled all the birds in the field.
For the sentiment, I stamped the “Fly High” above the scene, and hand-wrote the “don’t…” Obviously, people shouldn’t fly under the influence, but you may make someone laugh with a card like this.
Card #3 Make Lemonade
For my third card, I used the Fresh Citrus Bold Print cling stamp to create two backgrounds with Lemon Drop ink. One of them, I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. With the other, I colored in some of the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.
Using the Wood Frame Infinity Dies, I die cut a frame and adhered it to the center of the heat embossed panel. Next, with the same die, I cut out the second yellow citrus panel and I adhered the center negative piece inside the white wood infinity frame. The ink on this center panel is lighter than the embossed ink, so I stamped a sentiment from the Affirmation Messages stamp set in black ink.
Finally, I adhered the colored in lemons, blossom and leaves to the top corner of the frame. Then, it all went on the front of a card base.
Card #4 Birthday Tulips
Tulips make me super happy because they mean Spring approaches. Spring makes me smile. So I had to do another card with them. First, I stamped out the tulips, masking the pieces in. Then, leaving the masks on the tulips. Next, I used the negative die cut from the oval center mask above to create a mask for the middle of this card. Then, I laid the Mandala Swirl Stencil over the mask and blended some Blue Raspberry and Key Lime Fizz inks over the top of it.
After removing all the masks, I colored in the stamped images with red and green Copics. Then, I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment from the Floral Tulips stamp set on black cardstock using white embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment out and adhered it to the front of the panel. To finish off the card, I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25 inches and popped it up on to the front of a card base.
Card #5 Orange You a Cutie
For my fifth card, I used the Orange Blossoms Combo stamps and dies in the same fashion as card #4. This time, though, I didn’t masked the oranges, I die cut them and glued them on to the front.
Card #6 Thinking of You
For my sixth card, I masked the center of a panel with an oval mask I die cut using the HeroArts Infinity Oval Dies. Then, I stamped the panel with the mask in the middle with the Abstract Fields Bold Print cling stamp using a blend of Taffy and Lemon Drop Inks.
Next, I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment in black with “always” just above it. I die cut the Thinking of You Die three times and stacked them up, off set, on top of the stamped sentiment. To finish off the card, I stamped the heart from the same stamp set in Taffy Ink and adhered it all to an A2-sized card base.
I have several other cards I created with this release. Stay tuned to the blog for more from the catalog. You can also keep an eye on my Instagram grid here: instagram.com/delandartie.
