Hero Arts - Spring 2021 Release Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Hey there Arties! Today is release day for the Hero Arts Spring 2021 Catalog!! This catalog has a ton of NEW items and some favorites from last year. I have highlighted a few products in the catalog for you today. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!

Card #1 A Big Love You

Supplies list:

Steps to Recreate this Card

  1. To create this card, first I cut die cut the Love You Stamp & Cut XL dies out of Dove cardstock three times, stacked them with Precision Glue and then embossed with with Sparkling Sea Embossing Powder.

  2. Next, I stamped the Script Bold Prints in Pool Ink over some Periwinkle cardstock.

  3. Next, I used a blender brush to create a vignette — darkening the edges with more Pool Ink.

  4. Then, I created a sentiment strip with White Embossing Powder and Pitch Black cardstock using a the “I’ll Always” stamp from the Love You Stamp & Cut XL stamp set.

  5. To finish off the card, I trimmed the background down 1/8” on all sides, popped it up on foam tape, adhered the die cuts and sentiments to the front and added some sequins.

Card #2 Purple Radiance

Supplies List

  1. Hero Florals Lotus Stamp Set

  2. Thistle, Grape Slush, and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks

  3. Purples Hues Enamel Dots

  4. Dove Cardstock

  5. Precision Glue

  6. Clear Embossing Powder

  7. Foam Tape

  8. Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer

  9. Heat Tool

Steps to Recreate this Card

  1. For this card, I created an ink blended background with Grape Slush, Thistle and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks.

  2. After the panel was completely dry, I heat embossed the lotus flower and sentiment images form the Hero Florals Lotus Stamp Set with Clear Embossing Powder.

  3. Next, I used a watercolor brush to add some reactive details to the panel, lightening up some waves and some light coming up from the flower.

  4. Using a cool gray Copic marker, I drew a bit of a shadow beneath the flower.

  5. Then, I added some details to the petals with a white colored pencil and some dots of white gel pen here and there.

  6. Next, I trimmed down the panel 1/4” on all sides and popped it up on the front of a Dove White Cardstock Base with foam tape.

  7. To finish off the card, I added some Purples Hero Hues Enamel Dots to the front with Precision Glue.
