Clean and Simple cards are my go to style. It took me a while to just chill with all the techniques, and I still use all kinds of supplies and methods, but CAS cards have my heart. So I have gone full CAS today to really highlight the power of white space adorned with the perfect amount of color.

Supplies

Stamp Sets: Shine On Sunflower, April Club Sursee Deluxe

Inks: Limoncello, Mint to Be, It’s a Boy, It’s a Girl, Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust, Tiara, Fiesta Blue, Something Blue, Grape Crush, Be Mine & Midnight

Dies: Favorite Die exclusive with the April Club Sursee Deluxe (will be available end of May for new subscribers)

Paper: Catherine Pooler White Cardstock

Other: Gemini Junior Die Cutting Machine, Fun Foam, Skor-pal, Bone Folder, Catherine Pooler Acrylic Blocks

Card 1 - My Favorite Girl

For all of these cards, i was inspired by a video Catherine did for StampNation, using a rainbow of her inks to create a focal point with her stamps. Solid stamps and CP Inks work beautifully together, for smooth, solid coverage and perfect blending.

To create this focal point, I took out one of the round stamps from the Shine On Sunflower stamp set and inked it up in a rainbow of colors in a circle, overlapping each other. Then, I took the FAVORITE word die from April’s Club Sursee Deluxe and die cut it three times out of White Cardstock. Next, I stacked them up using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and glued it onto the front of my top-folding card base.

To finish off the card, I stamped the words MY and GIRL from the My Favorite Sentiment Stamp Set, also from the April Club Sursee Deluxe.

Card 2 - Shine On My Friend

For my second card, I did the same thing as in card 1, but I switched out the die cut sentiment for a sentiment in the Shine On Sunflower set: Shine On My Friend. I used Midnight Ink from Catherine Pooler for the sentiment!

This kind of card is awesome for when you need a 2-minute quickie!!

Card 3 - Hope This Brightens Your Day

For the pièce de résistance and my favorite of the three—I followed the same concept—but I used different shapes and made a wreath. The Shine On Sunflower set includes solid sprig stamps that work perfectly together for a wreath. I took one of the sprigs and curved it a bit on my round acrylic block. Then, I inked it up and stamped it around a circle I had penciled in. I followed the same rainbow order of inks as in cards 1 & 2, but this time, I took a second little frond stamp from the set and stamped it in darker rainbow colors around the wreath to add detail.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Midnight ink: Hope this Brightens Your Day. I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25” and popped it up on some fun foam. To finished off the card, I added some Jelly Drop Hearts from Trinity Stamps (also a sponsor of our hop).
