Card #1 A Watercolor Campfire (I cheated a bit with markers)
I created a video tutorial for this card! You can catch all the details in the video below!! These HeroArts Liquid Watercolors have an intensity and beauty I really enjoy.
Card #2 Storytime Watercolor Doodle
For this card, I used Liquid Watercolors. again, but created a very different campfire scene. I had not watched Sandy Allnock’s campfire video before this, so it has a whimsical feel to it. To create this card, I just laid down a gradient of watercolor starting from the top left with Deep Ocean and Purple and then lightening things up a bit with Dandelion. I stamped the tent and fire pit images in Intens-ified Black Ink and then added some details with the watercolor brush and Liquid Watercolors.
Next, I wet the top of the panel with water and dropped in some Black Liquid Watercolor. Tilting the panel vertically, I let the black pigments run down the front of the panel. They created a dark canopy over the scene. Then, I used a fine liner pen and outlined the edges of the black paint. I also drew random doodles over the dark canopy area for interest.
To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment from the main kit in Hero Arts Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with White Detail Embossing Powder. I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5.25” and popped it up on the front of an A2-sized card base with fun foam and Precision Glue.
Card #3 Bubble Bath Staycation
For the third card, I created another funky, whimsical, dreamy scene. For the background, I used some Periwinkle Cardstock and different blue ink pads to make a rough vignette—going direct-to-paper with the inks. Then, I stamped the Tie Die Stamps onto the front of the panel with Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder.
As I looked at the panel, I thought it looked a bit like moonlight coming through a window. So I stamped the window from the Camp Mi Casa stamp set and cut it out, popping it up near the top of the panel where the light would enter the room. Next, I stamped and colored in the bubble bath image from the Bubble Bath stamp set with coordinating colors of Copic Markers.
To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Camp Mi Casa set and heat embossed it with White Detail Embossing Powder on some Nautical cardstock. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the front of a slightly larger strip of Periwinkle cardstock and popped them up on the front of the panel with some foam tape. I backed the panel with some Periwinkle cardstock and glued it all to the front of an A2-sized card base.
