Stamptember Blog Party - Radiating Alphas Background Stamp

Hey there Artie! It’s Del! I’m happy you’re here today to celebrate the Stamptember Release from Simon Says Stamp! You’ll be hearing from me again tomorrow with a collaboration stamp, but today, we are focused on the very unique Radiating Alphas background stamp.

I have used it two ways!

Emboss Resist Gatefold Card

For my first card, i stamped out the image onto a 6x6 card panel with some Clear Embossing Ink from Brutus Monroe and embossed it with Alabaster embossing powder.

Then, I started blending inks from the center outward using Hero Arts Hero Hues Reactive Inks. They are a hybrid ink that blends like butter! I started with Grape Slush in the center then worked my way outward to red. The final red ink on the outside is Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink from Tim Holtz… they blend together fine!

I created a gatefold base and cut my panel in half, glueing the panels on each side of the gatefold front.

For the sentiment, I stamped an image from the Lunch Box 2 stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and cut it out with a circle infiinity die. Since the sentiment stamp is square, I added more Grape Slush ink to the edges to fill in the circle.

I cut a ring out several times using the circle inifinity dies and adhered them together with Gina K Connect Adhesive. I adhered them to the left side of the gatefold and the sentiment to the right side, so they nest inside each other when closing the card.

To finish off the card, I added some embellishments that look like moon stones.

Primary Colors Radiating Alpha Card

For the second card, i created a little video for you to watch here:
