Catherine Pooler Unsinkable Collection Blog Hop
Welcome to our celebration of the Unsinkable Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. We are blog hopping today. Daniel West here with a few cards to highlight the maritime (merry-time?) fun of this nautical collection of stamps, dies and other goodies.
I have included a list of the entire hop for today below. Leave a comment on each blog! With each comment you have an entry to the drawing for $25 to shop Catherine Pooler Designs.
Vitamin Sea Card
For my first card, I made an underwater fun card with the all the sea life images from the Vitamin Sea stamp set and the Hook Line & Sinker stamp set. I stamped out my sea life using a generational stamping technique for the fish and coral with Peppermint Scrub Ink. Then, I did the same with Aquatini Ink and the other plant life. I wanted to darken a few of the pieces, so I added some Black Jack to one of the fish and one of the plants. For the larger plants, I stamped them out with Black Jack and colored them in with Copic markers.
After die-cutting all of the images, I lightly ink blended a panel of White cardstock with Aquatini and Peppermint Scrub ink and die cut a circle out of it. Next, I stamped the mini school of fish onto the circle. Then, I stamped the waves image onto another panel with Aquatini Ink and began adhering my sea life to the circle. After building my little scene, I adhered it all to the front of the card panel over the waves image.
Finally, I created an A2-sized card base and ran the edges over with my Aquatini Ink Pad to create a border. I adhered the panel to the front of the card base and added some sequins and a sentiment from the Hook Link and Sinker stamp set.

BY THE SEA CARD
For my next card, I used stamps from the StampNation exclusive set called By the Sea. This card is fairly simple, but I love the composition and colors.
To begin, I stamped out the Adirondack chairs, umbrella and sign images using Midnight ink. I drew a shoreline with a drawing pen. Then, I colored everything in with Copic markers. For the sand, I used E35, E34 and E31. And for the water, I used B05, B04, B02, and B00. For the umbrella, I chose R24 and R22. And for the sign and chairs, I used neutral grays.
After coloring in the scene, I adhered my panel to the front of an A2-sized card base with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Then, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and colored it in a bit with a B00 Copic marker.
