Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Blog Hop - Foiling
Welcome to my stop on B|M Inspiration Team Blog Hop, today! This week we feature foiling as a technique with products from the latest Brutus Monroe and Therm O Web collaboration.
I spent an hour a few weeks ago making foiled backgrounds. Little by little I have been incorporating them in my projects since. The fun comes in when I imagine the background in a creative way. This week, as Christopher’s Kaleidoscope toner sheet, foiled with his Green Sketched Foil had me mesmerized, I imagined it was the aurora borealis. So I decided to make an arctic scene with the foil in the sky.
I took out the Birthday Bears stamp set and stamp out the one with cupcake in its hands onto so white cardstock using Cornflower Surface Ink. Then, I colored in some shading with the same ink and an Aqua Brush Pen. I fussy cut it out and set it aside.
Then I drew a wavy horizon with a pencil onto the foiled toner sheet and cut it out. I traced the same curvy line onto some white cardstock and cut it out, too. I blended some Cornflower Surface Ink onto the front of the white panel from the bottom up to give some shadowing to the night snow scene. For the foiled panel, i blended some Cornflower, Plum and Raven Inks to create a night sky. I love out you can blend over the top of foiled sections and then wipe off the excess ink afterward.
Then, i adhered both pieces of cardstock to a white A2 sized card base. I adhered the little bear to the front and stamp and sentiment from the Birthday Bears stamp set in Raven Ink below the bear. I drew in a few lines for some added detail to the scene using a Copic Fine Liner pen.
I hope you enjoyed this little card and that you will try ink blending over your foiled panels, as well.
You’ll love what they have all come up with. I have a list of supplies in a grid for you below for your convenience. Please continue to hop along with the entire team today using the navigation links below the grid.
